Our Story

Established to Serve a Gap

Juriszen was founded in 2011 by a small group of Thai and internationally trained lawyers who noticed a consistent gap in the Bangkok market: businesses — particularly foreign-managed companies and growing Thai enterprises — were under-served by legal counsel that could speak both the language of law and the language of commerce.

Many clients came to us having previously received advice that was technically accurate but practically difficult to act on. Others had worked with larger firms whose attention and responsiveness did not always match their billing rates. Juriszen was built to operate differently — smaller, more attentive, and directly engaged with each client's situation.

Over the years, our practice has grown through referrals from clients who valued a straightforward, non-pressured style of engagement. We are not the right fit for every organisation, and we say so clearly when that is the case. For those we work with, we aim to be a trusted, long-term presence in their professional lives in Thailand.

Our Mission

What Guides Our Work

Candour Over Comfort

We believe clients are better served by an honest assessment than a reassuring one. When outcomes are uncertain or a course of action carries real risk, we say so directly.

Practical Orientation

Legal advice must ultimately help someone make a decision or take an action. We frame our work in terms of what you can actually do, not merely what the law permits in theory.

Client Dignity

Legal matters often involve stress, uncertainty, and significant stakes. We treat every engagement with the seriousness it deserves and every client with the respect they are owed.

Our People

The Juriszen Team

Our practice is intentionally small. This keeps client relationships direct and ensures that the people you consult are the people doing the work.

Standards & Protocols

How We Maintain Quality

Every engagement at Juriszen follows documented internal processes designed to ensure consistency and protect client interests.

Thai Bar Association Membership

All practising lawyers at Juriszen hold active membership with the Lawyers Council of Thailand, the governing body for the legal profession in Thailand.

Confidentiality & Data Protection

Client matters are handled under strict confidentiality protocols. Digital files are maintained on encrypted systems. We comply with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Peer Review on All Documents

Legal documents prepared by Juriszen undergo internal review before delivery. No single lawyer signs off on their own work without a second read from a colleague.

Ongoing Professional Development

Thai law and regulatory requirements evolve continuously. Our team maintains current knowledge through structured continuing legal education and regular participation in professional seminars.

Conflict of Interest Screening

All new matters are screened against existing client relationships before engagement. We do not act for parties with conflicting interests and disclose any potential issues before work begins.

Clear Engagement Letters

Every engagement is documented with a written scope of work and fee arrangement prior to commencement. Changes to scope are captured in writing before additional work proceeds.

Expertise & Context

Legal Practice in Thailand

Operating a business in Thailand involves navigating a distinct legal environment shaped by the Civil and Commercial Code, the Foreign Business Act, company registration requirements under the Department of Business Development, and a web of sector-specific regulations administered by bodies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Bank of Thailand, and the Board of Investment.

For organisations without permanent in-house legal staff, the challenges are compounded. Commercial decisions must be made continuously, contracts arrive without notice, and disputes occasionally arise without warning. Juriszen was designed to address this reality — providing organisations with access to experienced legal counsel on terms that reflect how businesses actually operate, rather than requiring the overhead of a full-time legal department.

Our practice in Bangkok covers three areas where businesses most frequently require ongoing external support: corporate governance and regulatory compliance, commercial contract preparation and review, and the resolution of commercial disagreements. Across all three, our approach remains consistent — we aim to be useful, direct, and genuinely attentive to the specific situation each client faces.

Bangkok's position as a regional business hub means that many of our clients have cross-border dimensions to their operations — managing vendor relationships with suppliers across ASEAN, employing both Thai and expatriate staff, or entering joint venture arrangements with Thai partners. Our team's combined experience in Thai and common-law jurisdictions allows us to provide counsel that accounts for these broader contexts without losing sight of the specific requirements of Thai law.
